Copiers for sale in metro Atlanta

Refurbished copiers as good as new, at 40 to 60 percent off.

New and refurbished Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Sharp, and Xerox. Priced on your real volume, not the brochure. Serving Georgia businesses since 1996.

Our refurbished copiers are as good as new

Every refurbished machine gets a new fuser, new feed rollers, and a fresh developer unit. The meter reading is disclosed in writing. The warranty is ours. A $6,000 machine new runs $2,500 to $3,500 refurbished, and the only difference is the box it came in.

How much does a copier cost in metro Atlanta?

Most Atlanta businesses buying outright spend $3,000 to $15,000 on an office copier. A mid-range color multifunction runs $2,000 to $8,000 new, an entry-level desktop sits at $300 to $1,500, and high-volume commercial machines reach $10,000 to $30,000. Refurbished saves 40 to 60 percent versus new across every tier.

Speed, measured in pages per minute, is the single biggest price driver. A 25-ppm machine costs less than a 55-ppm machine from the same manufacturer, even when the feature set is identical. Color copiers cost 30 to 50 percent more than monochrome equivalents because they run four toner cartridges, four drum units, and four developer assemblies instead of one. Finishing options like stapling, folding, and hole punching add cost but only matter if your workflow uses them. The meter reading tells you which of these features you actually need.

How do I avoid buying more copier than I need?

Pull your meter reading before you shop. It lives under a menu labeled Counter or Meter on nearly every machine. Divide the lifetime count by the number of months you have owned the device. That number is usually about a third of what the office manager estimates when guessing from memory.

We have watched offices buy 55-page-per-minute machines for 2,000 pages a month. We have watched the same offices trade those machines for 25-ppm units three years later and never notice the difference. The brochure lists every feature the machine has. Your meter reading tells you which features you actually use. Buy the volume, not the brochure. If your monthly count is under 1,500 pages, a refurbished machine at $2,500 to $3,500 does the same work as a new one at $6,000, and the savings go in your pocket instead of the dealer's.

What copier brands do you sell in Atlanta?

We sell and service Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Sharp, and Xerox machines across metro Atlanta. The table below lists current models by manufacturer, speed, color capability, and typical price. Every cell with a bracketed placeholder is filled from live inventory, not a catalog guess.

Should I buy new or refurbished?

Refurbished saves 40 to 60 percent versus new. A $6,000 machine new runs $2,500 to $3,500 refurbished, and a refurbished Ricoh or Konica mid-range with under 500,000 copies lands at $2,500 to $5,000 versus $8,000 to $12,000 new.

Ask three questions before buying any refurbished unit. What is the meter reading? A mid-range unit under 500,000 lifetime copies is reasonable; over a million and you are buying somebody's problem. What was actually replaced? Fuser, feed rollers, and developer are the components that wear. A machine wiped down and resold is not refurbished. A machine with a new fuser, new feed rollers, and a fresh developer unit is. Who services it and what is the warranty? If the answer is a third-party with a 30-day warranty, you are on your own after a month. We service what we sell, and the warranty is ours.

Should I buy, lease, or use a maintenance agreement?

Buying makes sense when you plan to keep the machine seven years or more and can absorb repair bills separately. Copier leases run $100 to $400 per month in metro Atlanta. A maintenance agreement covers parts, labor, and toner at $0.01 to $0.015 per black page and $0.06 to $0.12 per color page, and it is separate from the lease.

The three options are not mutually exclusive. You can buy a machine and add a maintenance agreement. You can lease a machine and add a maintenance agreement. You can buy or lease and run break-fix, paying for service only when something breaks. The right combination depends on your volume, your tolerance for downtime, and your tax position. Under roughly 1,500 pages a month on a machine under three years old, break-fix usually costs less than an agreement. Above 3,000 pages a month or past five years, an agreement usually wins.

Do copiers store copies on a hard drive?

Every digital copier stores images of what it scans, copies, prints, and faxes on an internal hard drive. The FTC states that this data "can be stolen from the hard drive, either by remote access or by extracting the data once the drive has been removed."

A US healthcare company was fined $1.2 million after leased copiers were resold still holding health data on more than 300,000 people, and regulators held the company responsible rather than the leasing firm. This is not a theoretical risk. The FTC published a guide for businesses specifically because the problem is widespread and poorly understood. If you are replacing a machine, the hard drive must be sanitized or destroyed before it leaves your office. Get it in writing. For medical and legal practices, it is not optional. We sanitize or destroy the drive on every machine we take in trade, and we document it.

What is included when I buy a copier from Pro-Tec?

Every machine we sell includes [PRO-TEC: delivery, install, network config, driver deployment, training hours]. We do not hand you a box and a phone number. The same technician who installs the machine is the one who services it.

That matters more than people expect the first time something jams at 8 AM on a Monday. The technician who set up your network scanning knows your scan-to-folder path. The technician who loaded your print drivers knows which workstation has the legacy driver issue. When you call for service, you are not starting from scratch with a stranger who has never seen your office.

How long has Pro-Tec been selling copiers in Atlanta?

Pro-Tec Copiers has served metro Atlanta since 1996 and currently services hundreds of machines across the region. We are a multi-brand dealer, not a single-line shop, which means we recommend the machine that fits your volume rather than the machine we have a quota on.

That is a real difference when your contract is up. A single-brand dealer has one answer to every question. We have four. If your volume dropped since the last machine, we will tell you to buy less machine. If your volume grew, we will tell you to buy more. We make the same margin either way, and the honest answer is what keeps the phone ringing.
